It’s bad and disgusting enough when you find out someone molests a child, but when a person that you should trust to protect you from such things does the molesting it is disheartening.

Joseph Robert Harding was arrested last week for the molesting of a 13-year-old girl. Harding was a deputy with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department. His actions were reported to the Sheriff’s Department in the morning and he was fired by the afternoon.

No administrative leave offered or further investigation conducted, Harding was quickly fired and jailed.

We appreciate Sheriff Eric Levett for his quick action. We don’t need people like this in law enforcement.

Our heart goes out to the family of the 13 year old victim.
