We are fortunate to have two excellent law enforcement agencies serving our needs here in Conyers and Rockdale County.

This past week, one of those officers was awarded the Medal of Valor for his actions in stopping a man who was stabbing his own mother.

Conyers Police Department Cpl. Corey Hambrick, without thought to his own safety, in close quarters, stopped this man before he could do any more harm to others.

All of our law enforcement officers every day deserve a pat on the back for putting themselves in harm's way to ensure we receive the protection that many times we take for granted.

We are proud of Cpl. Hambrick; he is a credit to our community.
