Mr. Douglas Stephen Bennett, 65, of Conyers, died Friday, October 24, 2014 after a long illness.

Mr. Bennett was born June 8, 1949 in Burke County, son of the late James and Ola Bennett. Douglas Bennett recently retired from working as a Quality Assurance Manager.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James and Bobby Bennett, his sister Sara Williams, and his sister in law Elsie Lowman.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta Bennett of Conyer; daughter Robyn Guy and her husband Stacy of Alpharetta, Ga.; son Nathan Bennett and his wife Angie of Covington; sister Kitty Wachob; sisters-in-law Lilly Bennett, Peggy Bennett, Candace Barrier, Pat LaFevers; and brother-in-law Roby Barrier. Also surviving are four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 1 at Rockdale Baptist Church in Conyers, GA. Douglas Bennett will be interred at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at a later date.
