IN BRIEF: In a rare unanimous vote, the Rockdale County elections board chose to appoint at-large member Cary Bond as the chairman of the elections board. Republican member Lynn Brown was appointed first vice chair and Democratic member Garvin Haynes was appointed second vice chair.

The three members also voted unanimously, after much discussion, to strike the requirement from the bylaws that the at-large member not be a memmber or affiliate of a local political party.

The elections board also voted 2-1 to send a resolution to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office to not have a deputy present at elections board meetings.

The three members went into executive session to discuss the procedure for choosing the third at large member, including whether to have a rolling application period or a deadline to collect applications and whether or not to air interviews with candidates on Channel 23.
