Just in time for Mother's Day, the Rockdale Career Academy's Future Farmers of America Club is holding a plant sale to raise funds for student activities.
The sale features beautiful hanging baskets, ferns, mixed planters, geraniums, tomatoes and other vegetable and bedding plants - perfect as a living, growing gift to give mom.
The sale not only thrills greenthumb moms, but will also help RCA students enter and attend competions, activities and trainings.
RCA students grow the plants that will be for sale. Teacher Kevin Surrette encourages his students and community to “support sustainable locally-grown food and horticulture products which will reduce their carbon footprint and provide a safer product using fewer pesticides.” Other efforts on campus include incorporating reclaimed water from rainwater recovery in landscaping projects.
Their bounty is for sale – stop by the Rockdale Career Academy between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at 1064 Culpepper Dr. SW in Conyers.
