LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A Gwinnett County jury has returned a guilty verdict against a woman accused of killing her daughter-in-law.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that jurors on Wednesday found Joanna Hayes guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Hayes was given a life prison sentence in the slaying of Heather Strube in a Snellville Target parking lot in 2009.

Authorities say Strube was in the middle of a divorce with her husband, Stephen. Prosecutors say the couple had just completed a child custody swap when Strube was killed. Prosecutors contended Hayes didn't want her daughter-in-law to get custody of the child.

Prosecutors said the 45-year-old Hayes, of Luthersville, wore a wig and mustache to look like a man when she shot Strube.
