Mary Elizabeth Edwards Stamps was born November 8, 1932 in Atlanta, Ga to Paul and Ruby Edwards of East Atlanta and died Friday, September 9, 2011. She graduated from Murphy High School where she met Kenneth Stamps who she later married.  This year they celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary.  Kenneth and Mary were residents of Lake Capri in Conyers for 32 years.   She was a loving wife and lifetime companion.  Mary was also a wonderful Mom, loving Grammy and Great-Grammy.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Edwards, and parents, Paul and Ruby Edwards.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stamps; daughters, Deborah E. Lawler and husband, Robert, Donna Lee McCoy and husband, Mike; son, Kenneth Stamps, Jr. and wife, Melissa A. Stamps; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and 1 niece. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Joel Tolbert officiating; interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
