With Father's Day coming up on June 19, we asked Rockdale residents: What's the most valuable thing your father taught you?

Angelo Cogdell, head tennis pro at Rockdale Tennis Center “My father taught me to have a good heart and a good work ethic… always walk around with a smile and be very positive and enjoy life.”

Laura French, attorney with Talley, Kendall and French, and daughter of William L. Jones: “As a little girl, my Dad always told my sister and me that we were better than any 'snot-nosed boys,' and taught us to believe we could achieve any goal in life. We both have very advanced degrees and are successful in our respective fields. He is now the proud Grandaddy of two precious grandsons, and I can assure you no more perfect children have ever graced the planet.”

Keston Law, 16, RCHS rising junior: “The value of trust”
Byron Law, 6, Shoal Creek Elementary: “Be nice to others and help them if they have a problem.”
Kyran Law, 9, Shoal Creek Elementary: “Be kind and respect others.”
Jaden Law, 7, Shoal Creek Elementary: “You can do it!”

Dave Baker, WSB Radio's home improvement expert and avid golfer: "To be a man. To take care of your business. Own up to your mistakes and take credit for your success."
