A Conyers man who was arrested in December while reportedly attempting to hide crack cocaine in his body was arrested again last week after an undercover drug investigation.

Demetrius Deon Price, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of prescription drugs with the intent to distribute.

According to Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Michael Camp, over the course of a month, the Rockdale Narcotics and Vice team had made two undercover purchases of marijuana, cocaine, and crack cocaine from Price after receiving an anonymous tip.

A search warrant was then served Jan. 17 at Price’s residence at Harvest Grove Apartments, where he was reportedly living with his parents.

Around 9 a.m., the Rockdale County SWAT team entered with no incidents and detained four people inside the apartment, one of whom was Price. The other three were not charged.

“In apartment during search warrant, they recovered a half ounce marijuana, 2 grams powdered cocaine, no crack cocaine,” said Camp.

Investigators also found prescription pills, such as five pills of Xanax and 13 pills of methocarbamal, a muscle relaxer, packaged in individual baggies, along with other drug related objects.

Most of the objects were in Price’s bedroom, but a set of scales were found in the living room.

Price was booked into Rockdale County jail with a $25,000 bond.

On Dec. 23, Price, 21, was arrested after a Conyers Police Department officer noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from the car where Price was a passenger.

After a search, the officer transported Price back to the jail to conduct a search after Price reportedly said he had a bag of marijuana in his butt.

On the way to the jail, the officer observed Price moving around and found a white powder substance on the back seat when he took him out of the vehicle.

The officer and jail deputies found three small rocks of crack cocaine and two small bags of powder.
