With the economy forcing people to find the best deal possible, Affordable Insurance of Georgia opened just in time to offer that service to Conyers residents.

The business, located on Sigman Road, offers auto insurance, business insurance and personal liability insurance through 18 different companies.

Owner Leo Somani said most companies offer one, two or three companies, so Affordable Insurance of Georgia stands out with its number of options.

"We use 18 different ones to get the best rates possible with the best coverage possible," Somani said. "That sets us apart from other insurance policies."

Affordable Insurance of Georgia is an independent agent, meaning they deal with different companies rather than just offer one option of a captive agent.

Somani worked for an insurance agency in Texas, where they worked with eight to 10 different companies before deciding to move closer to family in Lawrenceville to open his own business.

With his previous experience, insurance companies were open to working with him, and he was able to bring in a plethora of agencies for his customers.

The large number of insurance dealers helps in today’s economy when people need to find the lowest price to fit their budget.

Despite people keeping their wallets tight, Somani said auto insurance has been a pretty good business due to rules and regulations implemented by Georgia in November.

If you’re pulled over and don’t have insurance, rather than just being issued a citation, your car will be towed on the spot. That has helped keep the business opened on Feb. 1 going.

Affordable Insurance of Georgia is located at 1135 Sigman Rd NE, Suite A and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday’s 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
