Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology alum Jodie Wu and her company, Global Cycle Solutions, was recently named in BusinessWeek as one of America's Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs for 2010 for their devices, which harness the power generated by pedaling bicycles in developing countries.

"Starting my own company has been an adventure," said Wu, a 2005 Magnet grad, as she prepared to return to Tanzania on Friday. "Definitely a learning process." Wu graduated from MIT and said she owed a lot of where she was to her college.
