Live burn training on Ga. Highway 138 from April 28-30

Rockdale County firefighters will conduct a routine burn training at 1427  Ga. Highway 138, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 28 until Saturday, April 30.

The training program will simulate real fire conditions by burning vacant houses and is designed to assist firefighters improve their fire fighting techniques as well as train on new equipment.

Residents are strongly encouraged to close windows and doors during this time as smoke will be generated during the burn training.

Rockdale County Fire and Rescue Department will finish the training exercise around 7 p.m., April 30.

The training is being conducted within the rules and regulations of the Clean Air Act and has been approved by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources- Environmental Protection Division.
