Volunteers with the AT&T Pioneers, headed by Irma Lightburn, read to pre-K and kindergarten students at Pine Street Elementary on Friday and gave coloring books that warned about the dangers of lead poisoning. The week of Oct. 23 – 29 was also declared Childhood Lead Poisoning Awareness Week in Conyers by the city council.
