The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office and Conyers Police Department joint narcotics/vice unit recovered about a kilogram of cocaine, handgun and hundreds of thousands in cash in a north Rockdale home.

The Narcotics and Vice unit began investigating 2141 Lake Rockaway Road unit after receiving a tip that a suspect might be involved in drug trafficking and money laundering.

On July 16, the Narcotics and Vice Unit executed a search warrant around 3 p.m.

About a kilogram of cocaine and about $300,000 in cash was recovered at the residence along with a handgun.

Huber Asprilla-Moreno, 47, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Marijuana Less Than Ounce.

Asprilla-Moreno had previously been deported from the United States. In August 2009 in Alabama, he was charged with illegal re-entry into the United States after removal as well as false claim to U.S. citizenship. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 46 months in prison and ordered not to be in possession of a firearm after his release. He was also ordered to be turned over to immigration authorities upon serving his time in prison.
