With tax time approaching, Rockdale residents have a chance to clean out their filing cabinets at a one-day document destruction event open to the public free of charge.

Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful and Pratt Industries will host a document destruction event at the Rockdale County Government Annex at 1400 Parker Rod on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All documents turned in to the government building on Parker Road will be transported to Pratt’s mill in Conyers after the event for destruction.

A Pratt representative will remain with the truck during the duration of the event and will transport all documents directly from the County’s Annex to the Pratt mill, where all documents will go immediately in to a pulper.

Eligible materials should be in loose form, removed from binders, notebooks or heavy spirals.

Acceptable materials are file folders, magazines, paper documents, fliers and newsletters, computer printed forms, cards and envelopes, color paper, telephone books, newspapers and advertising inserts.
