John Wesley Bostwick, Sr., age 80 of McDonough, went to be with his Lord in heaven on Saturday, January 7, 2012. John was born June 18, 1931 to Rollin and Janie Bostwick and grew up in Jonesboro. He served in the Army during which time he contracted polio and was left a paraplegic. There wasn’t much John couldn’t do in spite of being bound by a wheelchair. He was a man of great faith and loved to tell anyone who would listen about Jesus. Mr. Bostwick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol Bostwick, Conyers; sons, John Wesley Bostwick, Jr., Molina, Ray Wallace, Marathon, FL, Bob & Christy Wallace, Peachtree City; daughters, Brenda Bostwick, Molina, Carol & Rex Bishop, Conyers, Lilly & Mark Smith, Madison, Linda & Billy Gamble, West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Buffy, Nicki, Joey, Kenny, Crystal, Jason, Ray, Michelle, Kevin, Jessica, Ryan, Mandi, Justin & Ashley; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Butler & Helen Bostwick and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Paul Leslie and Ed Butchart officiating; interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro. Family will receive friends Monday, January 9, 2012 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
