Local political parties will come together for on December 22, to hold a community jobs forum.

This event, which will be attended by the local Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican parties in Rockdale, follows a recent jobs summit held in Washington DC earlier this month. The goal of the forum, which  is to gather ideas from citizens for growing the economy and putting Americans back to work.

The forum is open to the public and will take place at the J. P. Carr Community Room at 7 p.m. The event will be moderated by former county Chief of Staff R.J. Hadley, who left the position to campaign for the Democratic ticket for the federal senate seat.

On December 3, President Obama hosted the Jobs and Economic Growth Forum with some of the country's leading CEOs, small business owners, labor leaders, nonprofit heads and thinkers. At the conclusion of that forum, the White House asked citizens and community leaders to host Community Job Forums across the country.

The ideas, perspectives and recommendations from these forums will be submitted to The White House for inclusion in an upcoming Jobs Creation Report. For more information on this effort, visit http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/economy/jobsforum
