The New Depot Players are reviving the torch anthems of country music’s maverick divas in a can’t miss event fundraiser, “Honky Tonk Angels,” July 8-9, 8 p.m. Rockdale Auditorium will resonate with classic ballads from Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton.

Sweetening the scenario is the line-up of NDP’s most beloved and award-winning actresses – Patty Maguire, Patti Burgess Holladay, Lenae Rose, Olivia Adams and Courtney Bozaich hosted by Ann Bryant as Minnie Pearl.

With many Georgia theatres closing recently, it’s vital to support this community treasure in its 35th season. “We rarely ask the public to support us financially, but the current economy has been rough on everyone, including us,” said director Jay Tryall. “We want to do everything possible to insure the NDP sticks around continuing to offer quality programming.”

Not only providing superior local entertainment, the NDP gives back awarding three scholarships to students participating on stage or behind the scenes in a high school, community or professional production while maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA.

Next up for the NDP is “Little Shop of Horrors” coming August 4 -20; “The Red Velvet Cake War” October 13 – 23 and “The 1940’s Radio Hour” December 8 – 18.
