Herman C. Cowan, age 91 of Conyers, died Friday, March 11, 2011.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eudez Ellington Cowan, Conyers; daughters, Scarlett & Randy Prater, Eatonton, Gail & Mark Stoltz, Conyers; grandchildren, Greg & Sherry Prater, Covington, Sid & Ashley Stoltz, Decatur, Jason & Angel Stoltz, Covington; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.  Mr. Cowan served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received the Purple Heart.  He was a longtime member of Rockdale Baptist Church, had been a Mason for 68 years and is a past Master of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge.  He retired from Sears & Roebuck after more than 25 years of Service.  Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 in the chapel of Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Powers officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.  Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, 30012, 770-483-7216.
