Hair cut for breast cancer

Young American Christian School seniors Emily Guntner and Ivy Bautista took the extreme step of shaving their heads in honor of their aunt Paula, who is going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, in a unique fundraiser.

The cousins put down a challenge to YACS students from the seventh to 12th grade to raise $1000 for the Kimberley Chance Atkins Foundation. In return they would shave their heads. The YACS students not only stepped up to the plate but exceeded it and donated more than $1,200.

Emily and Ivy shaved their heads on Wednesday and presented Abbey Atkins, daughter of the foundation’s namesake and also a YACS senior.
