With Rockdale off this week, Heritage and Salem were the only teams from the county to have a game. Heritage faced Lanier at home and Salem traveled to play Loganville.

Heritage (2-5, 2-4 Region 8-AAAAA) came into the game off a bye week, two weeks removed from a 18-13 win over Cedar Shoals. However, the Patriots weren't able to get a win against Lanier (7-0, 6-0 Region 8-AAAAA) who capitalized off many Patriots mistakes in route to a 49-20 win by the Longhorns.

Salem (5-2, 5-1 Region 8-AAAAA) has been dominant in the region with its only loss coming against powerhouse Gainesville. The Seminoles held off a strong Loganville team in a 31-27 win.

Rockdale takes on Lakeside next week at home, while Heritage will have its senior night at home against Apalachee and Salem will travel to face Lanier.
