The fourth suspect on the run from a rape and armed robbery at a Conyers motel last week was found and arrested in Atlanta, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Joyce, 32, was tracked down and arrested in Atlanta on Monday, with the help of the U.S. Marshal's Office. Joyce was booked into the Rockdale County jail late Monday afternoon.

According to RCSO Investigator Michael Camp, a RCSO deputy assigned with the Marshall's Office and investigators were assigned the task of finding Joyce and arresting him.

Joyce faces one count of rape, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of battery, and one count of motor vehicle theft.

Three other suspects were previously arrested by Conyers police last week. All three remain in jail.

Early Wednesday morning, just after 3:20 a.m., the Conyers Police received a 911 call of an armed robbery in progress in a room at the America’s Best Value Inn motel on 1297 Dogwood Drive.

Officers arrived to find three suspects - later identified as Defazio Sierra Taylor, 21, of Jenkinsburg, Jadarrius Tamonquez Miller, 21, of Jackson, and Terry Bernard Watson, 21, of Locust Grove - driving out of the motel and into a dead-end cul-de-sac where they were blocked in. Officers were able to arrest them without incident.

Officers learned that four suspects went to the motel to meet two females they were communicating with via backpage.com. The four male suspects entered the room armed with a handgun and robbed the two female victims of cash, their cell phones and keys to their vehicle. The suspects then raped and assaulted both victims.

The fourth suspect, identified as Joseph Joyce, then forced one victim into her vehicle and attempted to drive away. The victim jumped out of the vehicle and ran to the motel’s front office where she called 911.
