Dunk a cop, raise funds for Explorers program
CPD-dunk-major
The Conyers Explorer Post 2222 is looking for some citizens willing to dunk police officers for a good cause.
The Explorers will host a dunking booth fundraiser on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Conyers Walmart located at 1436 Dogwood Drive.

Conyers Police Department (CPD) officers are signing up for shifts in which citizens can purchase three balls for a $2 donation to take their turn at dunking an officer.

Explorer Post 2222 is a division of the CPD consisting of young men and women ages 14-20 interested in learning more about a career in law enforcement.

Explorers meet weekly with CPD advisors and learn law enforcement skills such as self defense, traffic stops, handcuffing techniques and Georgia law.

Money raised from the dunking booth fundraiser will go toward travel expenses for Explorers to attend competitions and academies and purchase equipment and uniforms.

For more information on participating in the Conyers Explorers program, contact Officer Travis Quimby at 770-483-6600.
