It was every duck for itself as hundreds of yellow rubber toys floated down a swollen Honey Creek toward the finish line at Elks Aidmore Children Center for the ninth annual Rockdale County Senior Services Rubber Ducky Race fundraiser on Thursday. Each duck entry raised $10 to help senior service programs, and duck holders won prizes if their ducks were one of the first to cross the finish line. 

Haydel Center member Shirley Peterson was the winner of the race, which had had 1101 ducks. This year's theme was “Saluting Military Service,” and the veterans present at the event were recognized.
