The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners announced they would hold a day-long strategic planning retreat Aug. 7 in Henry County.
The retreat and planning session, which is open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m., with a one-hour break for lunch, and is expected to adjourn around 3 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Nash Carriage House located at 4361 Jonesboro Road, Hampton (Henry County).
The tentative agenda and expectations of this strategic planning session are as follows:
Morning Session
• Understand expectations
• Build teamwork and cooperation
• Establish/review vision, mission, organizational values
• Conduct SWOT analysis (Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats)
• Identify major issues
• Establish of "common ground" guidelines
• Gain consensus from elected officials
• Identify key strategies, goals, breakthrough projects
• Begin to develop the initial plan
• Organize sequence of actions
• Establish next steps
BREAK - LUNCH ON YOUR OWN
Afternoon Session
• Improved teamwork
