County Human Resources director Jeff Pogue introduced Jim Howell as the finalist to head the county's MIS department at this morning's Board of Commissioners work session and meeting, concluding a 6-month search. The department handles the county's technology/IT needs. Howell, a 15 year resident of the county, previously worked for IBM, the Georgia Technology Authority, and Georgia Pacific.

"I am seriously interested in helping the county," said Howell. "I think we can save the county a lot of trial and error."

"Everybody is going to see we're now going to move up a notch," said Pogue.
