An informational town hall meeting on rezoning that could reshape the heart of Conyers will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at 1194 Scott Street.
The rezoning to mixed-used development zoning would cover a 424 acre area located between Green Street and I-20 and West Avenue and Ga. Highway 138, also referred to as the Central Conyers Activity Center.
The area has been the subject of several studies, master plans, and initiatives, including a Livable Centers Initiative study. It's also part of a designated "Opportunity Zone" district, where businesses can receive tax credits for creating new jobs.
The city has been purchasing land plots in the area to turn into green space.
Another meeting will be held Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., at the same location.
