An SUV ploughed into a gas station convenience store Monday midday when the driver reportedly experienced a mechanical malfunction.

Around 12:20 p.m., a Ford Expedition driven by an adult female jumped the curb and smashed through the glass and metal entrance of the convenience store at the Texaco on Ga. Highway 212 and Oglesby Bridge Road. 

The driver reported that the brakes had locked up.

The front entrance, made of glass and metal, was destroyed along with a display of Little Debbie food items and other food displays.

According to Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Investigator Michael Camp, no one was serioulsly injured. A customer who had reportedly received a cut on the hand had left the area by the time deputies arrived.
