The Sears - Home Appliance Showroom came to Conyers in a smaller version in August of 2008. It's a move they have not regretted because the objective was and is to cultivate a purchasing environment of bonhomie within the community. The Sears Corporation is breaking away from the "big box" presentation and marketing themselves more at the local community level. The goal is to make shopping more convenient and pleasurable for shoppers and to give them a more personable level of customer service. The store has done well, garnering recognition for their customer service.

The Sears store offers only appliances for the home, and they offer it with warmth, fresh coffee, fresh baked cookies and other soft beverages, amenities never experienced at the mall stores.

Willie Lee, the store manager, said he is very proud of his staff of eight associates and the personal touch the customers have come to rely on from the group. Each staff associate has been with this location since the first day. They are well trained and quite knowledgeable about each product the store sells. In this comfortable atmosphere clients from Stockbridge to Covington, Lithonia and Conyers have a purchasing experience not normally associated with major chains.

The store carries all top-line brands and is able to demonstrate each appliance floor model for customers to get a firsthand experience with what they are purchasing. Their customer service is also available by appointment as well.
"This is great place to work," said Karen Quevedo, the store's lead associate.
Sears matches competitors' prices and still offers the customer an additional 10 percent off the matched price.

The personal touches seem to have paid off. Customers have written letters to the store manager or their favorite sales associate to thank them for their kind and professional service. In keeping things community minded, the store is also a major sponsor for Heritage High School and Rockdale High School football teams as well as other schools within the community.

The store has also hosted charitable drives as they are currently doing for soldiers coming home from overseas. The drive is called the Heroes at Home Wish Registry and members of the community can stop by the store to learn more about the drive and how they can contribute to support the soldiers. Customers can also bring a canned good or three and watch the savings go up on their purchase during this holiday season.

Like all other stores, Sears is gearing up for their special event sales the day after Thanksgiving. The doors will be opened to welcome each customer at 5 a.m. on tomorrow and 6 a.m. Saturday. The store is located at 2239 Ga. Highway 20, Suite H. Phone number is (770) 388-7522.
