Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful, the Rockdale County Recycling Center and the Conyers Home Depot will again join together to host the Bring One for the Chipper program on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 30, through Saturday, Jan. 9, the Rockdale County Recycling Center, at 1200 Sigman Road, will accept cut trees during normal business hours. The Conyers Home Depot will be accepting cut trees on Saturday, January 9, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Chipper program involves hundreds of Georgia communities and thousands of volunteers. Since its inception in 1991, the program has recycled approximately four million cut Christmas trees. The mulch from these trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects and individual yards.
The Davey Tree Expert Company has partnered with Keep Georgia Beautiful to mulch Christmas trees collected and is offering free mulch to anyone interested. For information on how to receive mulch, contact Davey Tree Expert Company at (770) 451-7911.
