The Board of Commissioners announced it will begin holding a work session in the evenings on the fourth Monday of the month starting July 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Currently, work sessions are held at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays and voting sessions are held at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays. In response to public input and an in effort to accommodate citizens who cannot attend morning sessions, board members decided to hold one work session each month in the evening.

"We are trying to make county government more transparent and more accountable to the people we serve," said Rockdale County Commission Chairman Richard Oden. "By moving one of our work sessions to the evening, we are providing more residents with an opportunity to become informed and involved in the decision-making process."

Board meetings are held in the Rockdale County Assembly Hall at 901 Main St. in Olde Town, Conyers. For more information or to be added to a meeting notification email list, e-mail County Clerk Jennifer Rutledge at jennifer.rutledge@rockdalecounty.org or call 770-278-7009.
