IN BRIEF: The county is aiming to put the question of Sunday alcohol sales to voters on March 6 along with the presidential primary in 2012.

Commissioner JaNice Van Ness said she would like to see a town hall meeting to gather feedback from the community "sooner than later." She suggested the evening of Nov. 1 as a possible date, after the BOC's regularly scheduled evening work session.

According to Elections Supervisor Cynthia Welch, the county would need approve a resolution to call for the ballot question by Nov.13.

Commissioner Oz Nesbitt said, "I'm in favor of moving forward with the resolutions and finding a date for a town hall meeting."

The 2008 presidential primary saw a turnout of about 49 percent of registered voters in Rockdale County.
