The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Viola Baxter and the Late Duncan Baxter of Atlanta,(formerly of Ft. Payne, Ala.), Grace Britt of Monroe, Buster Britt of Johnson City, Tenn., and Verne and Joyce Newhouse of Big Canoe. She is a graduate of Eastside High School and the college of Coastal Georgia where she was a presidential scholar and received an associate degree in psychology. She played softball with the Lady mariners and was named Best Defensive Player. She Earned a Bachelor of Science in education, specializing in health and physical education. She played two years of collegiate softball with the Pirates and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education. She also received the Roy J. Sims Award. She is employed by Satilla Marsh Elementary School, Brunswick.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Col. James T. Bennett Jr, and the late Mayme S. Bennett of Valdosta, Jenny Lee of Thomaston (formerly of Brunswick, Georgia) and the late Thad S. Lee Jr. He attended Glynn Academy and graduated from College of Coastal Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political Science. He is employed by the Fan Sports Radio 790 AM as an on-air personality and owner and senior editor of SouthernPigskin.com.

The couple will marry at 6:30 p.m. July 11 at St. Simons Baptist church. The reception will be at the St. Simons Island Casino Atrium.
