The Bank of North Georgia will host its third annual Back-to-School Peanut Butter and Jelly Food Drive to benefit 27 local food pantries that are located near the bank’s 43 branches. The drive will be Monday, July 12, through Saturday, July 31, during normal banking hours.

All three Bank of North Georgia locations in Conyers (433 Sigman Road, 3207 Salem Road Southeast, and 1981 Highway 138 Southeast) will be accepting goods.

The food drive is an annual event. Last year, Bank of North Georgia collected 2,861 jars at 4,624 pounds, which is almost two and a half tons of PB&J.

"Our team members are passionate about making a difference in the local communities we serve. In 2008, we began hosting a food drive because we learned that food pantry shelves are typically depleted in the summer months and there is a tremendous need for nutritious food for children as they prepare to go back to school," said Don Howard, chairman, president and CEO of Bank of North Georgia.

Local residents, customers and friends of Bank of North Georgia are encouraged to visit any of their 43 branches and drop off as much peanut butter and jelly as they can carry. The banking team would love to see creamy and crunchy varieties of peanut butter and every imaginable flavor of jelly to appeal to every child in metro Atlanta.
