Shopping carts full of toys made for little faces full of joy during Saturday morning's annual Shop with a Cop event in Rockdale County.

Badged and uniformed law enforcement officers walked through the toy aisles of the Conyers Walmart with more than 100 excited children.

Conyers Police started the local Shop with a Cop event in 2008. The event makes Christmas gifts possible for children who likely would not have had gifts this year.

While spearheaded by the Conyers Police department, Shop with a Cop was a joint effort that included Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies, Georgia State Patrol troopers, and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents.

CPD raised funds for the event through donations from citizens, business owners, and government employees, according to CPD public information officer Kim Lucas.

The event included donuts and milk and pictures with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
