Investigators have made an arrest connected to the body found in a burned pickup truck on Feb. 4.

Kelton Perez Franklin, 36, of Decatur was arrested on Tuesday and charged with providing false statements to investigators after being questioned about the death.

Investigators have questioned several persons of interest in the case, including Franklin.

The case is still open and ongoing. If you have any information please contact RCSO Lt. Matt Wolfe at (770) 278-8000.

The body is believed to be that of a missing man from Auburn, Ga., Martin Vila-Gomez, an electrician and father of two.

Villa-Gomez's family reportedly called Auburn police to notify them that he was missing, but because he was an adult and missing less than 24 hours, the complaint was noted and a lookout was put on his vehicle. During that time, his vehicle was found burned in Rockdale County on Turner Road near the intersection with Abbott Road.
