Rockdale County SWAT team members were called in Tuesday to help serve a search warrant on a Conyers man who had been the focus of undercover investigation for allegedly selling drugs from his residence off Irwin Bridge Road.
After receiving a call about possible drug selling activity, Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Vice officers began investigating Nana Owusu Asamoah, 31, of McCord's Corner in Conyers about a month ago.
According to RCSO investigator Michael Camp, the undercover officers had reportedly conducted a couple of undercover purchases of crack cocaine from Asamoah.
SWAT team members were called in because of Asamoah's past obstruction and weapons charges, said Camp.
However, there were no incidents with the arrest at the condo, said Camp. Another female was also in the residence at the time but not charged.
Officers found a small amount of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and a handgun.
Asamoah was charged with prosession of cocaine and posession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and booked into the Rockdale County jail where he is currently held with out bond. Other charges, based on the undercover purchases and investigation, may be pending.
