On Thursday, Oct. 27, the city of Conyers held an Arbor Day celebration in East View Park.

Moon’s Tree Farm in Loganville donated an October Glory Red Maple to be planted in the park.

Students and FFA advisor Kevin Surrette from the Rockdale Career Academy joined city employees, Mayor Randy Mills and representatives of the Georgia Forestry Commission to plant the tree.

The city of Conyers has been designated a Tree City USA by the Georgia Forestry Commission for 18 consecutive years.
