Did you ever see those funny buttons with the word "tuit"? Well, apparently, today was the day that I should have worn one. I was digging through a pile of folders in our spare bedroom. Originally, the room was supposed to be a place to work on lesson plans and writing projects. During the past year, projects grew and calendars were loaded, and the room became more of a parking space for things that are waiting until I could get "around to it."
Today, to my relief, my husband gently asked if I could use help making my work space more efficient. In other words, no one has seen the top of the desk and we’re worried that it’s not even there anymore. And so, yet another project has begun. However, this time, I’m not the one leading this brigade.
I need to make a round tuit bookmark for my Bible. I have started the last few mornings without really making quiet time for prayer. My intentions are good, but I’ve rushed off with only a quick check in to God. As I reorganize my priorities, I need to plan my days better. I need to seek God’s will and kingdom first. Everything else falls into place when I start it this way.
So, starting tomorrow, I’m going to finally get "around to it." I’m going to set my clock for 15 minutes earlier and spend some time in prayer. If I still have trouble carving out time, I’ll just pray about it. If anyone has a handle on time management, it’s God.
"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matt 6:33 NIV).
