A note of thanks

Dear Editor: I want to thank everyone who has made a donation, prayed and lifted us up during this time. We have found that this town has some of the most caring people we have ever met. During the yard sale fundraiser for my kidney fund, it was truly overwhelming at the people who came out to help. We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives. Every dime that was donated, every amount of time you spent has truly been appreciated. We know we will get through this because we have so many pulling for us.

I can't name each individual due to the thousands who have reached out to us but I want to thank Calvary Community Church as a pastor. You have been the best, Wayne Maddox for donating the Porterdale Hotel for us to use, Alcovy Shrine Club, Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge, volunteers, Bill Hardy Floor Covering, Walden Construction, Bob Young, Anita Cox, Chrystal Harmon Photography, and everyone who has contributed in anyway. To those who are being tested as donors, your sacrifice is beyond words. Again it is a blessing to be surrounded by such good people who look out for one another. I hope to be able to thank each of you in person, but know the love you have shown will never be forgotten.

On behalf of myself and family I want to say a heartfelt, "Thanks."

Rev. Tim and Angie Walden

Editor's note: The target goal of the yard sale fundraiser was $2,500 to cover the cost of kidney transplant surgery. With the community's help, they were able to raise $6,000.
