At the county commission's meeting this week, it was refreshing to see the time allotted for public comments used to commend the members of the board for working together. Since taking office, Chairman Richard Oden's mantra has been unity. Now many in the community are beginning to see it happen. Kudos to Oden and R.J. Hadley for going the extra mile for our community. They lobbied our state legislators to save funding used to support Rockdale Cares after it was dropped from Governor Sonny Perdue's budget. Good work. As pastor Curt Zehner from Crosspoint Christian Church pointed out during his invocation at the meeting, the measure of a true leader is his willingness to serve.
