The Rockdale-Newton March of Dimes chapter held the 2012 March for Babies in Olde Town Conyers Saturday morning.

March of Dimes Ambassadors Lexi Hall, with parents Jonathon and Katie, and twins Grayson and Audrey Lee, with parents Chris and Jessica, led the pack. Hall was a prematurely born baby and spent a number of months in the Rockdale Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The goal was to raise about $99,000. The money raised goes towards the purchase of a special ambulance for premature babies and community programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. The March of Dimes has been walking since 1970 and has raised $2 billion.
