Looking for a lovely night out and a way to help Rockdale schools? The Rockdale County Public Schools Foundation and the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce hosts an evening gala on Oct. 25 to celebrate and recognize community's Champions of Education.

This gala, held at the Acuity Brands Lighting People Center, will celebrate people, groups and businesses in the community that have supported the county's public education in the past.

The event is the Foundation's biggest annual fundraising event and will consist of a cocktail reception, dinner, recognition program, and silent auction.

"The Foundation is a positive force for public education in Rockdale County. We believe our work is more critical today than ever before. We invite you to show your support by joining us at the Champions of Education Gala, by submitting a Champion of Education nomination, and by being an advocate for public education in our county," said Foundation President Dawn Butler.

This event is open to the public. For tickets, contact Susan Paul Smith at spsmith@rockdale.k12.ga.us

The Rockdale County Public Schools Foundation's mission is to support the work of RCPS through fundraising. Started as a collaborative between the school system and the Chamber of Commerce in 1988, the Foundation's sole purpose is to fund educational programs and projects not supported by the Rockdale County Public Schools general budget. The Foundation's signature activity is the Mini-Grant program that provides more than $10,000 annually to fund innovative classroom projects and programs.
