A 70-year-old Conyers man riding a motorcycle died in a crash with a stopped vehicle Tuesday evening.

James A. Johnson was traveling north on Ga. 20 on a 2003 Harley motorcycle near the intersection with Sigman Road. Around 8 p.m., another vehicle, a 2002 Infinity, was pulling out of the shopping center parking lot.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office draft report, the driver of the Infinity saw the motorcycle approaching and stopped.

Johnson reportedly locked his rear wheel and ended up laying the motorcycle on its side, sliding into the side of the car.

Johnson was transported to Rockdale Medical Center but died.

The road condition was reported as dry that evening and road grade was reported as straight.
