Just a thought: marriage

Marriage is hard work. It doesn't always feel like work, but let's be honest, every couple experiences tough times. So, here are a few things to consider: first, being different is OK. After all, you are two "individuals." If you were both the same, one of you wouldn't be necessary. Use your difference to your advantage by being one another's completers. Second, wives are to love and give honor to their husbands and husbands are to sacrificially love and lead their wives. Stop telling your spouse about their role and do a scriptural study of your own role. Then, seek to be the best at that. You'll be amazed at the impact it has on your spouse as well. Third, learn the effectiveness of good timing. There is a time and season for everything. There is a time to speak up and a time to be silent. There is a time to discuss an issue and a time to wait until later. Fourth, learn the difference between criticism and reality. Learn the difference between expressing true feelings and sarcasm. This is not really that hard - if you'll check your true motives before you engage your mouth. Finally, God honors the husband and the wife who honor their husband or wife. Marriage doesn't always "feel" like work - but it takes the 100 percent commitment and hard work of both partners to make a great marriage. "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." (Ephesians 5:21) Now let's go to work, shall we?
