Dr. Franklin Perry speaking for Men's Day

Dr. Franklin Perry Sr. is a native of Newton County. He graduated from R. L. Cousin’s High School in 1964. He received his B.S. degree in music education from South Carolina State University and a masters degree from Virginia State University. Later, he earned a Doctorate of Education at Nova Southeastern University in educational leadership. He also completed the Georgia Superintendent’s preparation program.

Dr. Perry has worked as a high school band director, middle and high school assistant principal and a principal of Clements Middle School, Newton County schools. He is a past superintendent of Twiggs Country and he served as assistant superintendent of administration of Bibb County, Macon.

He is married to Shirley Roundtree Perry and they are the parents of two children, a daughter Stephanie Perry Moore and a son Franklin Dennis Perry, Jr. They have four grandchildren, two girls and two boys.
