Author to speak on 'Seven Gifts'

The Daughters of the King at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Covington, will host author and inspirational speaker Dr. Beth-Sarah Wright at 2 p.m. Aug. 25, and the event is open to the public. The church is at 4140 Clark St.

Dr. Wright will speak on "The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit." A native of Mandeville, Jamaica, she received her bachelor’s degree with high honors from Princeton University in sociology and African-American studies; a master of philosophy degree in social anthropology from Cambridge University, Cambridge, England; and a Ph.D. in performance studies from New York University.

She is married to the Rt. Rev. Robert Wright, Episcopal Bishop of Atlanta, where they live with their five children.

A reception will follow in the parish hall, and copies of Dr. Wright’s most recent book will be available for purchase.
