A DIVERSE PARISH
St. As is a multicultural parish celebrating mass and extending its love to the community
StAchurch
St. Augustine Catholic Church, a parish of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta, is a diverse and multicultural community freely living and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Although the Catholic faith is the world’s largest organized religion, it was not until October 4, 1959 that the first Roman Catholic mass was held in Covington at the American Legion Hall. The Catholic community met in three other locations before the brick and mortar St. A’s, as it is affectionately known, was built on Hwy. 278 in 1970.
