Our Thoughts...Giving is receiving too
Placeholder Image

Here are some thoughts as you rush around to pick up those last minute Christmas gifts for your loved ones. You don't have to drive down the road and fight those last minute shopping crowds and traffic; you can find those gifts right here in Newton County and Social Circle.

The prices are competitive, the strain on you will be less and you will be supporting our local economy.

We are grateful that so many of you have responded to the food pantry needs, the Rotary Christmas Stocking Fund, the Salvation Army bell ringers and your own churches' requests for help for your neighbors this Christmas season.

If you have been too busy or just haven't thought about it, there is still time to contribute what you can. As we have said before we have no doubt that what you give from your heart will be repaid to you many times over. If you look at the bottom of this editorial page, you will see a list of some agencies to which you can still give.

If you can't contact one of these agencies, e-mail us here at pcavanaugh@covnews.com, and we will see that your gift is received by the folks who need it the most.
