We are pleased that Congressman Jim Marshall has listened to the requests of his local constituents and will hold a town hall meeting here in Newton County this Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at Alcovy High School.
Marshall, who is considered a Blue Dog Democrat by some, has given his time to be with us, and we appreciate that. We think he should be even more visible, so this is a good start.
We urge you to come out to ask the Congressman any questions you may have about health care reform, our economy, our soldiers overseas and any other concern you may have. Please be civil and allow him and his staff to answer your questions.
If you don't approve of how he answers a question, then the correct thing to do is show your frustration at the ballot box rather than shouting in a high school auditorium.
